God’s Plan.

“There is a way which seems right unto a man; But the end thereof are the ways of death.” Proverbs 14:12.

Sometime last week, I was watching a movie on Netflix titled ‘Man of God’ and they kept accentuating this verse of the Bible.

Somehow, I began to see a pattern as to how many of us see this scripture and apply it to life. I saw that when we think of this verse most times, we always think of the end result as total ruins. But then, the truth is that God does not destroy anyone because he or she missed His plan. Also, the devil cannot destroy anyone as long as he or she remains in Christ.

What does death or destruction imply then? Well, destruction in this sense is not always total ruins, it’s just mostly the disruption of God’s plan that never leads to recovery. What people experience when they miss God’s plans are alternate lives, alternate paths and alternate experiences.

Now, my point is this. The alternative to God’s plan does not necessarily have to look bad in the physical like the way we mostly paint it in our sermons and movies. You know that narrative of God calling a man into ministry and because he refuses and chooses to pursue career, he ends up in the village being miserable. No. Most times, the person living out of God’s will is actually even living a good and comfortable life, he is just mostly devoid of the things of the spirit like joy, peace and fulfilment that comes from doing God’s purpose on the earth.

See, the implications of not following spiritual instructions are spiritual and it only takes a spiritual mind to discern them. You have to be spiritual to even appreciate the absence of all of these in the first instance.

But here’s the overall good news which is the conclusion of this piece: Even if you are already in the alternate path of God’s will for your life, God is actually trying to make your current reality work for Him in a way. He is a tireless worker, always rearranging paths, realigning minds, revisiting wills…. He is just always on your case.

Remember this scripture?

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28.

As long as you remain in His love, you are never lost.
